New Phishing email

Received an email today from ofm@amazon.co.uk saying there’s an issue with the amount of returns etc…

Checked with Amazon Seller Support - this is a scam phishing attempt. If you get an email from this address - don’t click on any links.

Thanks Niko,

The one I got was scarily good - especially that the ending of the email address was just @amazon.co.uk

If you’re not 100% sure (1) Never click on any links and (2) Contact (phone) Seller Central Support to get their view - which would likely be to forward the scumbag’s email to stop-spoofing@amazon.com

Received one this morning but the eigbox.net part of the e-mail gives it away, Also there’s a small typo in the following line:

“If we do receive a response within 3 days your account may be deactivated for your protection.”

I’m sure it should really say: “If we do not receive…”

Hi, thanks for sharing this. The more that sellers know about these scams, the better they can avoid them.

Mine was from “Amazon Services Europe seller-notification@amazonservices.co.uk

and said this
"Hello from Amazon Services Europe,

We are conducting a review of your seller account due to your recent activity.

To maintain your seller account active, reply to this message with the Identification Code:

XXXXX

A temporary link will be emailed to you after you respond to confirm your identity.

If we do receive a response within 3 days your account may be deactivated for your protection.

We appreciate your cooperation in this important matter.

Sincerely,
Amazon Services Europe"

They are getting better and better and for someone who is paranoid or afraid of losing seller privileges they might react to this. What gave is away for me was the amazonservices email address.

Watch out folks.

Will using a private email address to log in to amazon, unknown to anyone else, help spot these instantly as fake?

If they continue to arrive to your public email address you then know its not amazon sending them.

I read it on my phone then checked my PC and it was in the spam folder where it belongs. Good idea to forward them to stop-spoofing@amazon.com per instructions here.

seems to be an inside job - somebody must be leaking these or somebody has easy access which is scary.

only thing similar i had was a credit card / bank card protection company - i listed a card that i had never used to purchase anything so the number could not be known. Yet as soon as i registered it on the system, It was used in America in under 3 days.
Basically they had somebody in the card protection company who would just copy down details and send them off to the scammers. An inside man who’s job was to infiltrate the company to gain access to the details.

I never had the thought that there might be someone leaking info. I hope that that isn’t the case because if it is then a lot of sellers will get caught out. Thanks guys for sharing.

Another one as well today.

Pretending to be from seller-performance@mvp97q35j2r-amazon.com but really from xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx-amazon.com=seller-performance@eigbox.net claiming your account is under review.

Careful guys.
