Help with bookloader etc

I’ve survived for 17 years of selling on here without ever facing (what to me is) the hell of spreadsheets and all that nonsense. Now however I have to… and it’s not fun.

Issues include category listing reports with missing info in 40% of records, constant error reports on upload attempts, and other examples of my own stupidity…

Is there anyone out there with patience who would care to message me directly and help me by explaining this stuff v-e-r-y s-l-o-w-l-y and answering some of my obvious questions. I’ve had some help from seller support, and been poring through the help, but… I’m basically too stupid

I think we started in 2002 also… fellow veterans…

Our listings got so big that we too turned to spreadsheets (rather earlier) and found using them on Amazon clunky, hit and miss, and a massive pain for a bookseller.

Have you thought of a software solution? From about two years in we went looking for something better than spreadsheets and eventually found it in the form of AManPro.

You can try it completely free for a month with no restrictions. Just download it from www.spaceware.com (the website does look a bit old fashioned but the software works like a dream). Even if you don’t continue with it, in that month it will help you get your existing listings in order (as well as having an inbuilt repricer, despatch note and address sticker printing, and nearly everything else you can think of).

I am surprised that we seem to be the only seller on this forum who do or have ever used AMan Pro, but it is quite simply a fantastic piece of kit and the support is excellent (though we have only contacted support on a handful of occasions in 15 years - they even call you back from Florida).

Yes, the downside, the subscription has to be paid in dollars (with a weak pound that’s an annoyance) and it’s not cheap at about $45 a month. But the aches and pains it saves are worth it if your inventory is large enough.

And, as I say, even if you use it only for the free month and don’t subscribe, it should help you get your current inventory in order (it downloads inventory reports with one mouse click and you can theoretically do everything within the software without ever visiting the Amazon site). Happy to advise on using it if you have any problems. We have used it for a decade and a half now and would not list using the Amazon site or spreadsheets ever again.
