Unexplained big drop in VTR rate
We use a YODEL tracked service and have never had any issues at all with VTR on thousands of parcels a month, suddenly since the 17th March every order is showing as not having a valid tracking number. When I check each and every tracking number on the VTR error report they are correct which indicates and issue at Amazons end to me ? As usual Amazon support are no help at all. Has anyone else had similar issues or do you have any idea what could be causing this ?

There’s just been an announcement from Amazon today that if you use Yodel, Whistl should be selected from the drop-down, or something along those lines:
On February 3, 2022, Whistl was added to the Amazon integrated carrier list. We provided you with a two-month grace period to adjust to this change and start adding valid tracking information for your Whistl-fulfilled orders.
Effective April 4, 2022, Whistl will be included in the Valid Tracking Rate (VTR) calculation and will impact your VTR rate and programme eligibility.
Follow the steps mentioned below to add the valid tracking information for Whistl.
During the dispatch-confirm process for every seller-fulfilled shipment, you must provide:
-
The carrier name: Select Whistl from the drop-down menu in this case
-
The delivery service
-
The tracking ID or unique parcel ID* for shipments delivered with a tracked delivery service
- Enter the above information as soon as you hand over your package to the carrier, as it takes up to 72 hours for the VTR report and metric to reflect the tracking information changes. If you provide tracking or parcel IDs post-delivery, the shipment will be counted as a VTR defect.
FAQ:
I shipped a Whistl parcel using a third-party carrier, for example, Yodel. Which carrier should I select in the drop-down: Yodel or Whistl?
As you are shipping your parcels using Whistl, you should select “Whistl” as the carrier name from the drop-down, regardless of which third-party carrier is doing the final mile delivery to the customer. You should still select “Whistl” even if you have been given a third party carrier tracking ID for your shipment. For example, a Yodel tracking number.

Thank you !! We will need to get our order processing software modified. Amazon had told Whistle there was no ned to change anything !!!

An update on this. The information given in the news story by Amazon was incorrect. No changes are necessary. Yodel updated their app a couple of weeks ago and its caused an issue with tracking for those shipping with Yodel via Whistle. Amazon are no in the process of updating the tracking to fix the issue, our VTR has suddenly jumped up by 20%

So do yodel use whistl then , I can’t find any connection to them delivering yodel parcels , send a parcel with yodel and select whistl as courier ? What sort of logic is this? My vtr is all over at the min going up and going down and I use yodel .
