Bye Bye Avalara

So we had an email last night, I am assuming everyone else has or will have in relation to them ceasing to provide Amazon VAT services.

Does anyone know if Amazon will be finding a new supplier for international VAT services.

Or do people have good suggestions ? or is it high time to cease all EU sales completely following Brexit shambles and issues ?

Avalara say they can do it themselves, but having seen their fees, they are well, yeah very expensive

€1800 per country per year Avalara quoted me. Plus GPSR...sadly may well mean the end of Europe for us.

Amazon, can you help?

Have you taken a look at GPSR yet?

With regards VAT - I thought they were going to allow a system where you only need to be registered in one EU state. Obviously this wouldn't be good if you had reclaims in other states - but is that even likely?

Does that sound like they are letting us off EU compliance for UK sales?

They already announced this, some weeks ago, thankfully. Apologies, I don't have a link.

If you don't have a high volume of sales which are due EU VAT, the Taxamo Assure service might work for you.

We've used it for quite some time and never had any problems with the service. They charge £2 per item for their service.

It will probably be best for everyone, I'm personally glad to see the back of Avalara, they have done little to assist me.

VAT services was introduced to make it less farcical but then they just started pointing at each other when trying to deal with an issue.

I don't know if Amazon will be finding a new supplier, it seems they will just point you to someone else at your cost probably Avask.

Avalara are purposely pricing themselves out to do it directly as they don't want your business.
