Unable to get application approved due to the brand on the asin being a fake brand that doesnt match the product.

Hi i need some help and amazon support is useless. Im unable to get application approved due to the brand on the asin being a fake brand that doesnt match the product. The brand is listed as something completely different to the actual product theyre selling, preventing others from adding to the listing.

ive tried day after day to talk to support and they keep telling me the same stuff, i have to sell the item to change the brand detail.. LOL. I cant sell the item/create a listing because everytime i try to get application approval they deny it due to it being a fake brand name. Ive tried everything i can think of to get past it.

Ive reported the listing time and time again, spoke to over 10 different people and got no where any help would be great.

My advice would be give up and sell it on another channel....

Trying to get SS to respond properly or change the brand will be almost impossible... does the barcode match the fake branded listing?

I have exactly the same problem. I sell classical music and have a number of products I cannot sell because Amazon has in its wisdom decided that Deutsche Grammohpon, one of the most famous publishers of classical music, should actually be Dolce & Gabbana (you couldn't make it up). Like you, I have been all around the houses with seller "support" sending me autoscript, pretending not to understand, telling me I need invoices from Dolce and Gabbana, etc. etc. Utterly ridiculous and probably a breach of the selling rights I pay for in my subscription.

I agree with CherryTree's advice, there is probably no way around this. As with most Amazon absurdities, there is simply no sensible point of contact within Amazon who might resolve this for you. I suspect they have their own darker motives for trying to suppress certain products, but that may be crediting them with more intelligence than they actually have.

I think there should be a MOD thread for specifically just obvious and misleading information on listings, like wrong photos, wrong brands, whong descriptions etc...

The Amazon catalogue looks like it was set up by a three year old with a crayon

Been there, got the t-shirt and worn it out.

It is just impossible I agree. Like you I have an item listed under brand '$funko'

There is no company or trademark with such a name. There is a company called 'Funko' yes but they do not make the item, have nothing whatsoever to do with it, the EAN points to the correct company, there is no $funko branding on the item.

Yet I cannot add an offer to the listing without permission from $funko - and Amazon refuse to tell me an address I can write to obtain such permission (well they would not be able to being as the company does not exist). Telling Support there is no such $funko company or brand just falls on deaf ears. Whoever created the original listing obviously made a mistake.

Although I am a big advocate of listing on the correct item by searching on EAN, sometimes you just have to bend the rules. My advice is get a set of your own barcodes from GS1 and list under one of those instead. Amazon have created this problem and that is the only solution in these circumstances.
