Repricing software?

Hello

After months of frustration i have decided it’s time to invest in some pricing software.

I know nothing about them unfortunately.

I want the software to cover a few hundred listings whereby i can set parameters and the software reduces the prices to compete with my competitors who already have the software.

Can anyone advise me on what software options there are?

I have searched the forum but nothing useful came up?

Thanks
Chris

I wouldn’t pay for this service. Amazon do offer a repricing option, so I would search the Seller Central help pages.

Many thanks for your help Kika.

I can see that the amazon repricing will not undercut the competition though, it looks like it will only match the competitors price - which i assume will mean less sales as i will never be the cheapest option.

Will i need an external software to do that?

If so what are the costs like?

Hi Kika

I only noticed the match your competitor option and the price ABOVE your competition options before.

Turns out the top one in the pull down box was the BELOW your competitor option.

Thanks again!

one important factor you have to consider is from what ive heard amazon repricing software does not reprice upwards. Also on external software that you pay for there are a lot of extra features such as sleep mode meaning between certain hours you can set your listings back to the max price to encourage competitors software to reprice back up to a penny less than your max and the race to the bottom starts again if that makes sense.

Repricing software is awful for sellers but perfect for amazon hence why I believe amazons free pricing software doesn’t price upwards. But in a cut throat industry where price is key to sales sometimes you have no alternative but to join them. Otherwise your stock just gathers dust.

We use a 3rd party re-pricer, for us it is vital as we have over 10k lines in our store and to manually adjust each price would take more hours than the day holds.

As others have said, if you use pricing software to undercut the lowest price, even by 1p, and the competitors also use similar software, you just ‘leap-frog’ each other down to the bottom.
You’re far better to match or even just remain 1p above and provide better service and keep your fb ratings higher.

There was once a fellow seller who jumped on one of my seller fulfilled listings and thought he would be clever by sending over 150 units to FBA (the advert was our branding, unique to us, he did a copycat) and sticking an autoprice on it. I politely asked him to come off the advert.

He kept undercutting to win the buy box. So I worked out his FBA margin and set my price below that, as FBM I was above breakeven. He came in lower and was selling for a loss of a few pounds per product due to the FBA fees, I reduced further more as did he. I let him sell a good chunk of his stock for a loss then banged in the infringement notice.

These autopricers are a double edged sword. Make sure you set your limits correctly but ultimately it a race to the bottom and you all end up sprinting on the spot, getting nowhere.

The strategy is hold for as long as possible and as soon as only one person stands the price goes back to normal, until someone else gets a bright idea…
