Customer auto authorised return not in saleable condition

I have a returned item that is not in original packaging and label has been removed and it was supposed to have a faulty zip and it has not the zip works perfectly. Amazon has already auto authorised this return can I appeal against this decision? I will be unable to resell the item as new due to how it has been returned to me.

Assuming refund at first scan has taken place (and this is a FBM order) all you can do is open a safe-t-claim showing photographic evidence of the damage.
