Account verification, invalid documents, out of the blue
Hi
I can't seem to locate how to get a UTR letter through the HMRC site or app, so thought I could use my self assessment statement, but as soon as I select that as the document type as "self assessment statement", it then changes from displaying my UTR number, to asking for Company Registration Number, and I don't have a company registration number. does that mean only the UTR letter will suffice this request?

same happening to me, I've submitted latest tax return, notice of SE tax return and it keeps changing the UTR to company number.
All the details match exactly - driving me mad, nothing is ever simple

A quick google search displays this which may help you -
As soon as you register for self-assessment or set up a limited company, you will automatically be issued a UTR number. You can also call HMRC on 0300 200 3310 to ask about your UTR number. They may ask for some information (including personal details and your National Insurance number).
HMRC App or Personal Tax Account: Log in to your personal tax account or the HMRC app, where your UTR number is displayed under your tax details. Past Correspondence from HMRC: Check any letters or emails from HMRC, such as your self-assessment welcome letter, which includes your UTR number.
