I keep getting "Carrier Adjustments" on all of my FBM returns
I was just going through my carrier adjustments and am noticing that on all of my UPS returns I am getting "Carrier Adjustments" of around $5.80. I work out of my home, and so I'm guessing that this is a residential surcharge that is getting me. I didn't think we had to worry about residential surcharges on FBM returns, but perhaps we do. Does anyone know anything about this? I wonder if I need to set up a return address at The UPS Store or something so prevent these additional fees on every return.

I wish I had an answer for you but I do not. I can say for certain that my returns that come UPS do not have these adjustments and my business is home based as well. On the other hand, my returns that come via USPS have adjustments on just about every single return. 48 adjustments out of 52 returns for a 2month period of Aug and Sept.

How do you find out if there are carrier adjustments being deducted?

It's how UPS is paying for the new union contracts. Legal theft. Nothing we can do about it since Amazon forces us to use UPS and UPS knows it.

Hello @Seller_DdmPiA1p1S2Wu. Thank you for checking in about those adjustment charges for return shipping.
As you and @Seller_WX6PKldZeKz6f have discussed, one common reason you may see these charges are UPS Delivery Area Surcharges and Remote Area Surcharges. Area Surcharges are covered in our Carrier shipping correction charges help page in the section "What are the common carrier correction adjustments: "
Delivery and Remote Area Surcharges apply to UPS packages delivered to designated ZIP Codes. Please visit the UPS website and search for the "Area Surcharge ZIP Code Listing 2023" spreadsheet to see if your address is in a designated ZIP code.
Our partner team is working to make sure these charges are made clearer to sellers when applied as a carrier adjustment.
