"Min" Price "Max" Price "List" Price "Sale" Price "Your" Price ... Nothing Confusing Here

Dumbest most confusing and convoluted mish-mash of illogic and absurd complexity ever concieved by the mind of man? How about you simplify this so a humble physicist can understand it, hmmm?

Likely created by the same genius who devised the "Shipping" Settings Jungle of un-neccessary complexity and confusion.

eBay manages to make everything in these sections simple, understandable, and instantly applied. You guys could take some lessons from over there.

IDK, to me this is one of the clearest areas of Amazon

Min Price : If using a repricer, this is the lowest you want your offer to go.

Max Price : If using a repricer, this is the highest price you want your offer to go.

For both of these, if you are not using a repricer, there is probably no reason to worry about them.

List Price : That would be the "List Price". If a bag of chips has printed on the bag "$2.99", then the list price is $2.99. If a car has a price from the factory of $47K, then the list price is $47K (sometimes called MSRP). It's a price that people can compare against to see how good of a deal they are getting; it's rarely the price that is actually paid.

Your Price - The price you want to charge a customer to buy YOUR product. The amount that they actually pay to YOU (of course, Amazon takes a cut, but you get the idea)

Sale Price - If you want to temporarily lower your selling price, you can have a sale. When you put in a Sale Price, you also put in start and end dates. Much like the sales circulars that you find in newspapers (if those still exist), showing the prices that will be in effect for the next week, but then go back to normal.

Contrary to much of what Amazon does, "List price" and "Sale price" are pretty standard terms; "Your Price" is IMO a pretty clear way of wording it; perhaps "Selling price", but that might get some people confused with "Sale Price". The only ones that are odd are min and max, and AFAIK, those are more of settings for a repricer than for anything else; certainly the customer never sees them, and if you don't enter them, it won't affect your listing.

Hi @Seller_utDantN2BGXtH,

I see that @Seller_nRFmxiQg4EGrw has given you an excellent explanation of how this all works. The only thing that I would recommend is that you set a minimum price on all of your products. This will prevent you from listing an item that should be priced at $2999.00 at $299.90, which I have seen happen and the items fly off the shelf if FBA. Unfortunately, i have seen this happen multiple times due to a typo and we are unable to cancel the orders as it's not a buyers mistake.

Please let me know if you have any other questions!

Michelle

The option to select negative quantities for dimensions and weight still exist in the "Buy shipping" routine... preparing for anti-matter shipping options?

It's very simple. Like Amazon assumes that we are morons, it also assumes that our customers are. They are simply asking you to lie to your customers about the cost of the product to make them think they are getting a better deal. Example....You can buy my fantastic Widget arm for $xx dollars or you can say buy my fantastic widget arm for $xx, normally $xxxx, see how much your saving?

What does it matter what all that means anyway? Give it enough time an Amazon's bots will deactivate your listing and decide the price for you. Because Amazon thinks you should pay ALL of their fees and still sell your item at the outside competitive price. You know, those places where it's half the fees and therefore you can sell it at a cheaper price. Just sayin'

why can't we set the price we want and let the customer decide if he wants to by the product at that price. Why does Amazon have the right to tell me what to charge. Ever hear of free markets. Also who is checking list price at Amazon. I have a product the list price is $11.95 Amazon says the list price is $2.50. I have sent them the publisher listing and they still won't let me sell it. My vendors are increasing their prices and I can't raise mine because Amazon won't change list price.

Amazon gets to increase the fees I pay but I am unable to increase my prices
