It is a question that is difficult to answer based on the limited information you have given.
If you are UK based and turnover £90,000 or less a year then you do not need to be registered for VAT. If you turnover more than £90,000 you need to be registered for VAT.
As you are a new seller you are probably no where near the £90K limit so you don't need to do anything VAT wise for now.
However there maybe legitimate reasons why you want to register for VAT. For example if you sell mostly zero rated items.
Just to note if you are not UK based then Amazon will deduct VAT from your sales and you may need to be registered for VAT.
It really is one to talk to an accountant about if you want further information.

As per your other thread, as you are not living in UK, but storing your goods here for FBA then you DO need to be VAT registered here. That could take a while to set up, so don't do anything more until you are VAT registered. Apart from that, I cannot really advise anymore as I am not VAT registered, and I do live here in UK.
