A few questions as a new seller

I’m pursuing a wholesale strategy to start, and I’m brand new. I literally just have an LLC and EIN. I’m trying to obtain a sales and use tax license from my state (PA), and it’s been a massive hassle. I can’t figure it out. Apparently they’re migrating to some new system and I can’t get ahold of anyone to ask questions. There’s no email address and when I call the phone number they just say the lines are full and they hang up.

So I have three questions:

1) Does anyone have any experience obtaining this license in PA? I can give more specific details about the difficulty I’ve had.

2) Am I even right that I need this license? I don’t want to go through this hassle if not.

3) If so, is there a reputable third party I can go through? I tried LegalZoom but they told me they just make a list of things I need; they don’t actually obtain them on my behalf. I’ve come across a few services but I don’t know if they’re reputable.

Any help is much appreciated.

I can't answer anything about PA, but yes, you do need this license. Without it, you will not be able to make legitimate wholesale purchases.

Good luck! And while you wait, spend some time on the forums and go through Seller U if you haven't already. You can learn a lot of what NOT to do by reading here.

"Any help is much appreciated."

In addition to what @Seller_nRFmxiQg4EGrw has told you, since you are new just be sure to follow the requirements for the new, improved Amazon.

For any rookies out there reading this, it is a near perfect example of how to NOT get suspended on Amazon.

DO YOU have an LOA from the brand allowing you to sell on here?

DID YOU source from AUTHORIZED wholesale sources that your rep at the brand says are OK.

NOTE the verification is required from the brand that the source is legitimate and authorized, NOT from one of those touted on TikTok and YouTube as having "thousands of brands and products" that assures you that they are authorized.

If you have watched any YouTube or TikTok videos FORGET everything you saw there.

Spend hours/days on Seller U and read the Forum to see all the really creative ways rookies find to get suspended by ignoring the advice above!
