Indirect Broker for Germamy
I am trying to import my first pallet into Germany, but need an Indirect Broker to complete.
Kuehne+Nagel, Amazons preferred pallet carrier, reccomends a company called CCS-Express, but as yet in 4 days they dont answer emails…
Is there a work around, alternative, does anyone have any solutions .
Thanks in advance

Have a read of this thread created by someone who worked hard to get stock into Germany

regional express can do pallet deliveries to Germany and provide all SAD document so you can claim import VAT back on your German return.
You also declare the actual cost of your products instead of the deductable value

I tried do something similar but used UPS instead of pallets.
Once you have the customs broker working, it is actually straight forward to get your goods accepted. You might have to look for an alternative customs broker.
I admire you going straight in with a pallet. I just tried a single box with lower value so not to expose me to huge risk and costs.
Once you have got the goods in, this will be just the start of another journey trying to work out who and where you pay the VAT. No guidance from Amazon and no guidance from the broker. In my case UPS are the brokers whilst another company is doing my representation. UPS have then hit me with a load of bills to which my fiscal rep and Amazon say I shouldn’t pay. You couldn’t make it up.
I wish I could be more help to you as you keep hitting a brick wall and wonder how everyone else gets on. Judging by the forums, the answer is that you are in a minority of people that actually embark on this journey…
Once you do get your goods accepted into Europe, please update the forum as I am really struggling with this VAT stage and Amazon nor UPS have come back to me with any answers.

UPDATE!!
Forget Germany for small shipments. I used UPS and sent 10 parcels in 1 shipment and 3 in another.
Long story short is you need an IOR (importer of record) even for 1 parcel into Germany. Sent them on 4th March… the 3 parcel shipment has dissapeared, gone…the 10 parcwel shipment is stuck in London waiting a new Commercial Invoice to ‘import’ them back, return.
UPS are absolutly horrific when it comes to contacting them… once past Customer Services…no one answers the phone.
I could get an IOR into germany at a cost of around £160 per shipment… not viabl;e on small shipments.
SO… I send all parcels to France… no IOR needed and pay customs duty through UPS. So far sent about 10 small shipments, around 120 parcels altogether, and all arrived and accepted into fulfillment centers.#
Now I have 2 pallets to send… but have questions that I am having difficulty getting answered…
- Do I need an IOR for pallets to France
- Does anyone know a company that will carry pallets and do sort the Import Duty also, I pay them, they pay customs.
Amazingly…UPS dont do pallets to France, but to be honest, all said…UPS are OK for small parcels. Most I sent in 1 shipment was 29 parcels…approximate cost of around £14 per parcel, +/- size/weight adjustments.
The UPS website has a webform, you can complete the Customs Invoice during the process and it works OK.
