New Seller Help!

Help wanted !,

I have just started on Amazon. My first item I sent in ,it has sold but Amazon say they want a copy of the receipt sent to them otherwise I will lose the sale.
Basically this item is new and sealed so I don’t understand! Anyway I only have one of the item because it was bought by a family relation who threw the receipt away. As a new seller I don’t want to get in trouble straight away so I called but couldn’t really understand what was being said by the guy.
There is obviously no way round this so I said just send it back then but he wanted to me raise a removal order and said it would affect my account. Has anyone else come across this and not been able to supply a receipt?

Did you list it as new ?

Are there any messages in performance - performance notifications

Can you post the notification

Lots of questions need answering here, I’m afraid, to be really sure what is going on.

First of all, are you registered with HMRC as self-employed sole-trader, and received your UTR ?
You need to be to sell NEW items.

Do you have a Business Seller Account - the legal entity, or did you open an Individual Seller Account (and I do not mean Individual selling plan -they are different).

Did you just send just one item in to FBA ?

Once an item has been bought from a retailer, it cannot be sold as New, even though it is still sealed. To list as ‘New’ you must have a proper invoice from a wholesaler or manufacturer.
And I do wonder why, if you just had the one item, you sent it FBA.
Another video victim, perhaps

Thank you for two helpers out of three! I have sorted it out now after a bit of forward and back.
