Buying a business with seller account
WE are a third party seller and authorized to sell other brand products by the brand owner. One of the brand we sell is looking to sell the business and we are interested in buying that business. This brand is registered with Amazon and has their own seller account. If we buy the business, can we keep that seller account open along with our existing seller account. How do we take Amazon's approval for the same. The brand account will only carry that brand products but our current account carries products from other brand as well. We plan to keep the 2 entities separate. Anyone done this and has any pointers?

If the account is registered to their business, yes. If the account is registered to an individual, no. If it is registered to a business, you need to contact Amazon and let them know what you are planning to do.

I understand you are looking for more information on how a change in business ownership would go. I do want to provide some insight into this to clear up any confusion that this might be causing you. Generally, seller accounts are not transferable. If the ownership of the business changes, the new owner would be required to establish a new seller account. If you were looking to just adjust the individual operating the account, then you would only be required to update the changes in the user permissions.
