Opened a new seller account forgetting I had an old one.

Hi,

I opened a new seller account forgetting that I had created one years ago. I never used the account ( I never even finished the setup) but now because of Amazon's policy on having two accounts my new one is deactivated. I tried to deactivating the old one. Even telling them in the case log that the old one was never used, but I am still stuck in limbo.

As mentioned, this was caused by an association to an older account you had forgotten existed. I would like to provide some guidance surrounding your situation in addition to inquiring on a few points.

Since I see you created a case to advise the other store was never used, there arises a concern with this situation. When you are deactivated for a multiple account policy, it is due specifically to an association with an account that is not eligible to sell on amazon, or simply an association to a deactivated store. Regardless of the use of that store, it is currently in a deactivated status which prevents it from being properly closed. Attempting to close a deactivated store is not possible per our close your account policy, thus you will be asked to ensure the original store has resolved from its original deactivation reason.

Since that store had never been used, it's seems probable that its original deactivation was due to lack of verification. Do you have access to that original account you made? Can you share the deactivation reason or notification from your original account? If you are able to share the notice, I can review your situation and offer guidance or next steps on the reactivation process along with their requirements.

You can also read more on this type of situation in one of my earlier posts describing how to resolve secondary account issues. The forums community and I are here to support you. Please let us know how we can help you from this point forward.
