Why is “Toddler Tower” a Registered Trademark Only in the UK? This Should Not Be Allowed!
Dear Amazon UK Seller Support and Community,
We would like to address a serious concern regarding the trademark registration of the term “Toddler Tower” in the UK marketplace.
**“Toddler Tower” is a purely generic and descriptive term**, used globally to define a specific type of children’s learning tower. In all other Amazon marketplaces (US, CA, DE, etc.), this phrase is recognized as a generic product category, not a brand.
**Why is Amazon UK allowing the exclusive trademark of such a generic term?**
This situation:
- **Unfairly restricts competition:** No seller should have a monopoly over a phrase that describes a general product type. It prevents other brands from fairly describing their products and misleads buyers.
- **Contradicts global Amazon policy:** Nowhere else in the world can “Toddler Tower” be registered as a trademark and enforced against other sellers.
- **Damages consumer experience:** Customers expect to search by clear product names. Forcing sellers to use unnatural titles creates confusion and disrupts the shopping experience.
**We strongly urge Amazon UK to reconsider this decision.**
Trademarking generic terms should not be possible on Amazon UK or any marketplace. Please align with global standards, protect open competition, and do not let a generic term be monopolized by one party.

Have you verified that "Toddler Tower" is in fact not trademarked in the UK? The fact that it is not trademarked elsewhere does not preclude the possibility that it has a UK trademark, which Amazon would be required to respect.

Hi @Seller_xi0EzO3HlBE7W
This is Sandy from the community manager team here on forums. Thank you for your post.
I can check with the brand team on guidelines around this. For me to look at and investigate specific ASIN examples, could you provide me any case IDs or ASINs related to this? Thank you.
