Why can't amazon find my pending trademark?

I've officially registered my brand with IPOUK and received a pending trademark. However, when I go to enrol my brand via Amazon's Brand Registry, I keep receiving the trademark 'not found' banner. It's already been over a week, but I'm not sure if anyone can advise or if you have faced a similar issue before.

You have to wait until IPO approve your trademark before registering for Brand Registry. Amazon cannot find it because it is not yet approved

Until IPO have approved your trademark others can challenge it - that is why IPO make you wait 3 months for approval.

What is the purpose of a pending trademark being accepted?

The purpose of a pending trademark is, as I said, that others can challenge it if your trademark is similar to one already registered.

If you list a product now you would have to enter the brand name as "generic". However as you cannot change the brand name on a listing once created, if and when your trademark is approved you would have to relist the item all over again with a different EAN.

So yes, you are unable to sell or manufacture until your trademark is approved, because there is no guarantee that it will be.
