Self employed to LTD

I’am currently self employed but i’am growing and I want to become a LTD company, does anyone have any advice or done this before in terms of changing these details in my account. As I will be changing to a commercial property and no longer my house address and also bank accounts. Any help would be great as it scares me that amazon will suspend listings during this process

Based on other posts, it’s fairly clear that Amazon will suspend your listings during the verification process, which some say takes months even if chasing them up on progress?

I personally would be inclined to contact Amazon first, explain your plan and ask if it would be better to open a new account as a Ltd identity either as a second account, or close the existing one once the new one is verified and live?

Many sellers have two accounts for different reasons and I suspect it may get around the awful delays some have had, but it’s just my take on an alternative approach, which of course may not fly with Amazon?

I did this and it was a fast and straight forward process. My listing weren’t suspended. You want to change the legal owner of the account and the bank account for deposits. Make sure the bank is owned by the same legal entity (limited company). Just provide all the information that Amazon asks for and you’ll be okay.

I changed from sole trader to limited too. My initial verification happened before the transfer, so was only suspended during the transfer itself (about 30 mins - agreements to hand over account to limited company, listings deactivated, signout, sign in again, provide Ltd company details, agree to all the terms as the Limited company, when that’s all updated the listings reactivate)

What they will suspend you for is saying that you’re already a limited company, which implies the details they hold are not correct. If you hint that the details they have verified aren’t right they’ll suspend you to protect themselves.

@leatherdirect - Took me about 6 months, with lots of chasing!

I’m currently at the start of this process myself and one piece of advice I’ve been given (to avoid being suspended) is not to change anything in seller central yourself, simply tell them you want to change over, give them the details they ask for and let them move you forward.

Question about the initial set of details they require,

  • The relationship between your current business and the new business you want to register.

  • Confirm if your current business will continue to exist.

How did you guys answer these? My business will still be exactly the same only trading under a different legal entity. I don’t want to lose my sales history, feedback, stock in FBA etc by saying my current business will no longer exist or do they mean will I also continue to trade as a sole trader too?

Any advice here would be appreciated.
