Help Needed with Error 5461 While Creating Product Listing

Hello everyone,

I’m reaching out to see if anyone has encountered a similar issue and can help me resolve it.

I have an approved brand name (Dream Express Design) and a GTIN exemption, yet I keep running into the error 5461: Brand Authorization Required when trying to create a new product listing. The error message states:

"The ability to create or edit ASINs using this brand name is restricted to authorized sellers. You need to apply for approval to add or modify products for this brand."

However, I’ve already gone through the approval process for my brand name, and it was officially approved on December 23. When I attempt to reapply for authorization, it gets declined since the brand is already approved.

I’ve contacted Amazon Seller Support multiple times and provided the following information as requested:

My approved brand name and the case ID for brand approval.

Real-world images of my product and packaging with the brand name permanently affixed.

Confirmation that the brand name entered in the listing has no typos or extra spaces.

Despite this, I’ve only received generic responses or suggestions to reapply, which don’t address the issue. After four days of back-and-forth with Seller Support, I’m still unable to create a listing or move forward.

Has anyone experienced this error before? Is there a way to escalate this issue to a team that can provide real assistance? Any advice or guidance on resolving this would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Dream_Express_Design,

Looking at the error code help page (https://sellercentral.amazon.com/help/hub/reference/G8DUAKHVJGGRZ4CH), there's a specific note that might explain your issue:

"If you are a brand owner and you encounter error code 5461 when attempting to create new ASINs for your brand, then your Brand Registry account and Seller Central account (your selling account) might not be associated with each other. To associate the accounts, go to Brand Registry selling roles."

Since you mentioned your brand was approved on December 23rd, this could be the missing link - your Brand Registry and Seller Central accounts might need to be properly associated.

Kind regards, Michael
