We buy 100% of all labels from Amazon, yet this morning we get hit with a sub 95% VTR

This is impossible.. we ship 100% of orders through amazon buy shipping, thus it is impossible for VTR to suddenly drop and get a threatening email in the AM... i am actually quite sick of waking up to a new threat from Amazon over some nonsense like this...

is this sabotage for being critical of amazon in the forums?

Hello Seller,

We noticed that your seller account has been flagged as having a Valid Tracking Rate (VTR) below the 95% requirement. Sellers must provide valid tracking numbers for at least 95% of their packages in all categories to avoid suspension of their selling privileges in that category.

You are in time to get this fixed! We recommend that you look at your untracked shipments to understand and improve your score. If your Valid Tracking Rate is not improved, we may no longer allow you to sell merchant-fulfilled items under the categories with a VTR rate below 95%. All major delivery partners provide tracking numbers for free. You can also purchase postage through Amazon’s Buy Shipping service, which automatically confirms shipments and provides tracking for all packages.

Upon investing the tracking numbers..

EVERY SINGLE flagged TRACKING was 'delayed in transit' due to the december 31 - first week of January ice storm.. thus it has NOTHING to do with our account, we shipped on time, the carrier USPS simply lost the packages, and we get blamed. 6 packages out of 115 shipped in december.

What NONENSE.

Yes I got hit with that as well. Says my shipments are all shipped on time, but "on-time delivery" rate is 50%. They're supposed to take weather delays into account, but doesn't seem to apply for some reason. Hoping it solves itself soon, not much we can do about it once the packages leave our warehouse. Super frustrating.

These items shipped 100%... it shows "delayed in transit" .. they clearly lost the packages.. we shipped them.. we printed the label and paid for the label.. why would we NOT ship them.. we have a dedicated team who SHIPS our orders and they do not make mistakes like this, or they wouldnt have a job.

yes.. USPS mis handles the packages, we have no incentive to pay for labels and not get out orders.. USPS picks up our basket and does NOT scan anything until they get back to the Post office.. this is where the package was lost.. they never scanned it in once they picked it up from our facility.. @KJ_Amazon

Our systems use tracking information from USPS to determine Valid Tracking Rate metrics.

USPS does not show any details for those tracking numbers or indication that the items shipped.

I shared your feedback with our partner team for their review.

Yes I do not understand this I just got hit with a VTR below 95% and unable to track! It's completely nonsense AI is not all that it is cracked up to be.

The USPS does this to us all the time. We deliver our daily sales/packages to our local post office. I had one before Xmas that never got scanned until it was delivered. I had another New Years week that took 5 days to get a scan on it. I understand Amazon has to weed out the sellers that don't ship on time. But, the USPS is killing me!

You need to think about the backend operations of other actors in your supply chain.

USPS picking up the basket 2x a day is not enough. They need to scan each parcel individually into their system to mark it as accepted.

If, for example, the postman picks up your basket, tosses it in his truck, and then the truck catches fire, or if your basket falls out the backdoor, or if the truck gets stolen by thieves (more common than you'd think) on the way back to his home post office, your parcel would never actually be scanned into the system.

Just because you've used a process for many years and not had any issues does not mean the process is 100% correct and/or foolproof. Something happened. You can either react and change your methods (for example, asking the postman to use his portable scanner to scan the parcels when they're picked up), or you can take this one on the chin and accept that once every 12 years something like this might happen.

I've been in your shoes, and what I did was reprint and reship all the affected packages. They've never been scanned into the system, and you've already paid for the postage. So why not?

Now I'm worried, this just happened to us. Amazon's tracking doesn't match USPS's tracking.

I was on the phone with USPS today with the service request response. USPS claims they never received the package and they don't plan on paying for losing it.

This order was placed and shipped on Dec 17th.

Very simple don't look at any Amazon emails and we all know Amazon is run by bots and zero actual support which means you should all be selling but never count on Amazon for anything as a BOT can take you down tomorrow stealing all your inventory and funds and that is it. Just ignore the [Moderator Edit: removed inappropriate commentary] emails and focus on your plan B,C & D selling platforms very time you get some BS like this because one day you will be glad you built up other platforms as emails like this are warning signs for us all that we need to get out. Nowadays weather events [Moderator Edit: removed inappropriate commentary] we had many expedited orders during weather events and this all is supposed to be Amazon handling before we even get these orders YET Amazon makes profit on transactions and they do not want to stop orders that will be delayed or inform customers of delays and then will try and blame the seller at the same time punish you if you cancel the order [Moderator Edit: removed inappropriate commentary].

So why not?

You need to think about the backend operations of other actors in your supply chain.

USPS picking up the basket 2x a day is not enough. They need to scan each parcel individually into their system to mark it as accepted.

Welcome to the club. :-(

To me, looks like Amazon is trying to eliminate Ground shipping. The big question is, how are we supposed to charge our customers like 25 dollars for all the shipping and fees for a 10 dollar product, and why would they buy from us then...
