DISBURSEMENT ON HOLD (for months) & PROOF OF ESTABLISHMENT FOR UK VAT
Hi Amazon Sellers,
Has anyone of you face the same issue in Amazon UK or EU?
We have not been getting our disbursement for 2 months and was required to submit proof of establishment for UK VAT.
Despite sending all the required docs and information, they just reply us few times saying that they are still reviewing it (more than 3 business days that they were saying they needed)
The latest reply we received was "Thank you for your recent email and providing your previous documents. We require some additional document(s) to continue with your business establishment verification associated with your VAT." Which was what we have provided on the first email.
Can anyone tell us how do you expedite the process or if you have solution for this?

I have no idea what to do, I received a confirmation of utr letter today from hmrc which I sent off to them and in less than 12 hours I got a reply asking for me to provide a confirmation of utr letter. All I can do is guess as to why it wasn't accepted and there's no one to actually contact about it.

I suspect that Amazon are trying to do so many of these they are taking ages to verify so you probably just have to be patient even though it must be incredibly frustrating

There are a lot of us going through this, with repeated requests for more and more documents to prove our country of establishment - check out a couple of LONG threads already on this forum.
I am thinking they have so many documents to check through (probably all done by bots !!) that it will take far longer than their stated time scale.

Yes, I'm from Ireland but own a UK company and have been filing VAT each quarter, now they want me to repay over £100k in VAT by reclaiming it from HMRC.... HMRC have rejected my request and say that I did everything correctly. its a mess.

I have emailed Small Business Commissioner, and she said she's working on that since Friday, there are many similar complaints. She asked me if I am giving her my consent to share my name and email with Amazon, as Amazon promised to expedite the resolution. I would advise to contact her, unfortunately I am unable to paste here here email, but you can search how to contact the responsible person. Best of luck to all of us

I have written to the Small Business Commissioner Liz Barclay and my Local MP, and would encourage you all to do the same.
This behavior from Amazon is outrageous
I've sent everything they have asked for and still they ask for more and they don't reply to my open techincal support case. I now am struggling to make my mortgage payment.
Further more, I only had five days from when they requested the data to when they blocked my payments.
Maybe off the back of the post office Scandal, the government is in the mood to help the little man against bullying big business.

its amazing that a company the size of Amazon can have such a poor legal department that they have failed to apply the vat legislation for 4 years and now they decide to illegally withhold sellers funds just in case they are found to have a liability.
Amazon has been negligent and all the sales have been accounted for by most sellers like myself, being vat registered, and paying it to HMRC every quarter.
Therefore we do not "owe" any backdated VAT.
Amazon need to contact HMRC with all their sellers cases and own up to having negligently not applied the legislation and find a solution.
But no they are big and arrogant and block sellers money potentially blackmailing or extorting sellers to lend them their money in case they are found to have liabilities with HmRC.
In the meantime I've put all stores on permanent holiday so they can't keep making sales to increase their "pot".

Its a complete Amazon meltdown and disaster, and they hardly seem bothered by it all. I have all my sales on 'Holiday' setting and I reckon its 50/50 whether this ever gets sorted out. I have not even tried sending more documents, partly because I have no more to send and partly because I have not heard of ANYONE who has completed the process to Amazon's bots satisfaction.
