Are people noticing an increase in pending orders we have 100s of orders pending for over 3 weeks this is tying up alot of inventory and impacting our business. Is there any information on the cause of this? (I.e) Influx of orders, Issues at amazon

An order with a status of Pending might indicate an issue with the buyer's payment method or a convenience store payment method. In some cases, our payment and order detail verification processes can potentially extend order processing times for as long as 21 days.
Are all of your orders being held as pending, or only orders for a certain ASIN?

Yes, we normally have 20ish pending orders, now we are at 53, the highest level we have ever seen. For our business that is around $3,000 in cash sitting at Amazon. It's a killer for cash flow. Been brutal the last two months.

I came here to create a similar post. We have close to 3,000 pending orders. We thought our November numbers looked great, until we compared the orders to what has actually shipped.
Wonder if there is an issue with Amazon's credit card processing system?

Yes. Same here. More than 1 month pending.
I asked to cancel those after 21 pending days as it is Amazon Policies.
First support agent helped but very quickly they stopped, always copy paste the same answer.
Very frustrating to have to be in this position. Energy and Time loss is also unbearable.

this is why I put limit one per order on anything I sell, even if its nothing special. way too easy to tie up inventory in pending maliciously or otherwise (and its often malicious. first year I did this I had a pending order for 35 of an item FBA for a month. another seller was just tying up my inventory to sell theirs.)

I always wondered - when you put an item in your cart, walk away and forget about it - is it removed from the seller's inventory? Maybe like a hold? Or only after they actually buy.

If it's FBA it's basically because your items haven't hit Amazon warehouse yet and were sold early. Normally Amazon ships our inventory out really fast after they get checked in. For Oct-December expect 6 weeks from the time inventory goes out to Amazon's warehouses and then processed to customers.

Normally even during the holidays pending FBA orders are under 40. This year its been a steady 70-90 pending FBA orders. They all claim to be confirming payment but seems sketch. I have the same customer buy some items FBM and it clears right away and their FBA order gets stuck in pending for days up to a week. Very odd
