Amazon STEALS Money? Settlement Perioid 10/22/24 - 11/05/24 Shows 3 times less money than sold

Ok, not sure what is going on, but Amazon is now stealing money. I guess you guys have all noticed that the last Sttlement Period is 3 times less than previous settlement period.

We have sold 150k of good for the 2 weeks period but settlement period 10/22/24-11/05/24 shows just 60k.

Just to be clear. We are selling 150k of goods each 2 weeks. Every time the payout was pretty much the same. Nothing has has changed. You would say that Deferred transactions were introduced. But this is different.

They show that we sold only 60k for the 2 weeks, when we make 10k of sales each day.

Or here is another example. The new Settlement Period is 11/05/24 till now. We have made $35k of sales for the last 3 days. but the Settlement Period "Product Charges" shows the amount 3 times less - just $11k.

WTH is going on?

We're running into this issue as well - customer support just told me that this is due to the new deferred transactions, that sales and expenses won't post until 7 days after delivery. There seems to be a few threads related to this. I'm awaiting a call back from seller support leadership for clarification.

Hi @Seller_P64PXTq0upfFx

As @Seller_0PluSpMVBfhMw stated, we do have an update to our deferred transactions report, it now shows a bit different than it used to be in the past.

I want to clarify that the payments on delivery policy is still the same:

Funds are reserved until a shipment is delivered, plus a reserve period. The standard reserve period is 7 days after delivery date (“DD + 7” reserve policy). For example, if you sell something on January 1, and it is delivered on January 6, then under the DD + 7 policy, your funds will become available for disbursement starting on January 14.

As for the new deferred transactions report:

By November 1, your delivery date reserve amounts will display as Deferred transactions in the Total balance box at the top of the Payments dashboard. Until then, they may still display under the account-level reserve field on your Payments dashboard and reports. Note that if you aren't subject to our delivery date policy, your dashboard won't be changed.

To learn more, you can read this help page.

Hope this helps,

Connor

It is theft only in the sense that it continues the Amazon doctrine of making war with small business and squeezing them for every penny. Can you imagine the interest they make off of deferred transaction periods? Can you imagine the interest on Billion$ in sales every month? Let's break that down for the mentally challenged. So that's $600B a year in sales. That leaves $300B for the 3PV's like you and me. Divide that by 12 and you see $25 Billion a month for the 3PV vendor sales. Take at least an extra week to pay out and the interest accrued is simply mind boggling. Amazon will squeeze every penny out of their sellers until they can compete with a like item and sell it directly. Amazon is an inhumane money making machine. Corporations rule the world. Sad but true story.

I am thinking about it this way:

Amazon used to defer our payments on transactions. They used to acknowledge the sale and not give us our money for 7 days.

Now, on the books, they are deferring the actual transactions. The sale is not officially happening until the 7 day period is over, but then you get the money right away. The sales over on our Dashboard will not match the sales on the Settlement Statements, because the Sales are being deferred for one week.

It looks bad on the settlement reports. We will wind up having to do more work on our end to track our fees and profits. They should have communicated better on how this would impact the sellers, no doubt. But the sales are there, just deferred for a week.

Amazon has become so hostile towards its sellers.

Here is the email where you can send feedback regarding this new garbage policy:

Is this including all of the fees you have to pay?

We figured Amazon takes almost 50% of our sales a month due to all of the fees.
