Amazon.de has gone haywire!

We are only selling mostly light bulbs on Amazon UK only, and have suddenly rec’d today over 1200 orders for washing machines, fridges etc. and counting from Amazon de.
We have never offered any products at all to Germany or any other country.
For all sorts of high value goods which we have never ever offered for sale.
It’s obviously some sort of glitch Amazon’s end.
Anyone else had this problem??
Regards,
Jenny.

Glitch?
Your account has been breached.
Go into your account and check all the settings immediately, I’ll bet the bank details are not yours anymore.
You need to have your account sanitized by Amazon and your devices checked for viruses.
Change passwords, from a device that you do not usually log in with and contact Amazon asap.

You [or someone in your business] probably clicked on a dodgy link in an email ]

This is not a glitch on Amazon’s end. You account has been compromised after you gave away your login details by clicking on links in phishing e-mails of following instructions in scam text messages.

Unfortunately, you are in a very difficult situation and I would advise you to do as much as you can… cancel or refund any fraudulent orders which you won’t be able to fulfill. Answer customer messages, apologising for the inconvenience, delete unauthorised listings.

Change your login details and ensure that the deposit method on file is correct.

Meanwhile, wait for Amazon to work on the issue.

We had the same situation a while ago. Your account has been hacked, the same as our account. You have to call amazon asap and tell them about this situation.
From my experience i can only tell you that now you will be having a lot of problems with your account - we have received lots of negative feedback as amazon refunded the money to all those customers who purchased those goods , also few intellectual property breaches complaints , official complaints from authorised sellers of some of these goods about unlawful selling , it was one huge nightmare as our account was suspended for it for few months. It practically killed our amazon sale as even until now our normal sale never got back to its normal level which we had previously.
Amazon will have a note in their files that your have been selling prohibited goods , even if it wasnt you and they know your account was hacked - you will be punished for it forever.

The “good” news is that at least the problem is confined to Amazon Germany only (for now) so chances are that the UK Amazon business account (that you actually use) may be OK when the dust settles even if Germany is suspended. If you have not already you MUST change your password and as Kika says you will have to answer the customer queries.

Hi
Our issue is with the UK account, we have been deactivated in all market places.
The situation, was the same. Items listed for a few pound, that cost a few hundred pounds. We emailed the buyers, of over 200 orders, we cancelled the orders. We received threatening emails to take us to court and involve trading standards, etc, etc,. 11 negative feedback, which Amazon annotated. This did not help as we no longer had any buy button or any sales. Then yesterday we were deactivated in ALL market places. This morning we have a notice to say we will no longer be able to sell on Amazon.
Lots of stress, loss of sleep, screaming, shouting, and crying going on here. I can understand why sellers going through this can come across a bit irate, in their messages. Good luck to you, I hope your situation has a better outcome than ours.

Check to see if your bank details have been altered as well. This is a serious problem, not something you can just cheerfully write off as an ‘amazon glitch’

Amazon accounts should have code key where you press button and get a different code to access it each time

The same thing happened to us on Amazon France about 3 years ago, I was active on our account and spotted some very strange orders appearing in our account.

I immediately checked our Inventory upload files (Go to Inventory --> Add Products Via Upload --> Monitor Upload Status) and an inventory file had been uploaded to our account with over 100,000 ASIN’s on there.

They had changed our store name but hadn’t managed to change our bank details so I’m not sure what their gain was other than try destroy our Amazon account.

This is not a glitch! It would appear your login credentials have been compromised, I would recommend putting holiday mode on your account immediately and changing all your login details for all Amazon accounts you hold in each specific country.

We managed to limit the damage to just 30 orders of high end products but that was within 1 minute of the upload going on our account. We were advised to cancel all the orders and to alert seller performance of what exactly has happened.

I’d recommend contacting seller support as well as seller performance advising what has happened, they should be able to assist on your next steps.

It was a nightmare dealing with 30 or so orders, I feel for you with 2000 orders, you need to act fast to avoid your account going down the pan!

Happened to me a couple of years ago. I was getting a sale every minute for high value goods (25k in one day!) Amazon soon sorted it.
