The buyer asserts that they did not receive their item, despite it being marked as delivered.

This is unusual. I use ShipStation for shipping software. I received a message from a buyer claiming their package is lost and requesting a refund. When I checked, it showed the package as delivered. I took a screenshot and sent it to the buyer. Why do people do this? I could understand if it had been a week or more.

Tracking is not proof of delivery.

If you used Amazon buy-shipping and fit all the criteria for INR protection, the buyer needs to file a claim.

No, it doesn't, not for Amazon. You need to use their shipping, and this has been argued, but AHT and SSA should be active on your account for at least OTDR protection.

Hello @Seller_5DrrKeHsDwIGT

Christine here from Amazon Forums.

Unfortunately, what you're describing is a well-known issue in our seller community. First of all, you've handled this exactly right by verifying the tracking and providing evidence to the buyer. 👍

Here's what we recommend to our sellers:

  • Always keep detailed tracking records
  • Screenshot delivery confirmations
  • Use signature confirmation for high-value items
  • Report suspicious patterns through official channels
  • Maintain professional communication

Remember, If you use Amazon Buy Shipping, you're protected under Amazon's Seller Protection Policy when you:

  • Ship with tracked delivery
  • Upload valid tracking information
  • Ship to the address provided in the order details

If you're seeing a pattern of these claims from multiple buyers, please use the "Report Abuse" function, so our teams can investigate.

Keep doing what you're doing - verify, document, and maintain professionalism. Don't let these situations discourage you from being a great seller!

Christine.
