Invoice Defect Rate is 100% Will I get deactivated?
Hi.
So I don’t get many business orders. maybe 1/1000 but i currently have 2/2 orders saying I defected on the invoice.
I do always upload the invoices asap but as I can’t do it when it’s pending and i dont get a notification when it’s available to upload an invoice, i’m finding it hard to do it within 24 hours of the order.
currently 100% defect on 2 orders despite uploading within 24-48 hours.
Will my account get deactivated? It’s really hard to notice when the order gets out of the “pending” status.

Yes its a rolling 12 months so you need to check your total turnover of all selling sites (uk and eu) Inc postage etc as well as other platforms from 6th October 2021 to today (5th oct) etc
So quite possibly if you’re only checking tax year to date, you may have already gone over it as current tax year is only 6 months in

If you upload them now your account should be fine - has it gone to at risk though ?
Have you looked at amazon sending them for you

I’m not VAT registered yet as I haven’t cleared 85k. I did see that I can exempt myself from VAT registering so that amazon uploads for me but this seemd like I might get myself into trouble.
Or is that what everyone is doing?

It’s not exempting yourself from vat
It’s signing up to say you are not vat registered and therefore amazon will send your buyers receipts rather than vat invoices

That’s the right one - but it’s badly worded on amazons part
Note that will only send receipts for future orders, you’ll still need to send those 2 on your dashboard

Ok so I’m definitely ok to go ahead an click that?
Anything to do with Amazon settings scares the hell out of me. I’m one click away from losing my business at all times.

Also we will have to register for VAT within the next few months as we will clear the 85K threshold this year. Will this make this process extra annoying as we registered as"VAT exempt" or can you just sort of turn it back on at any time?
Thanks for the help so far

It’s up to you for the sake of a few months (remember vat threshold is a rolling 12 months not fixed) but if you sign up here now, you will need to deregister from it in order to apply your vat number on amazon

Ok i’ve taken the leap. Hopefully that’s not an issue. So the 85K is within any 12 month period, not just from tax year end?

Is there a reason you don’t get Amazon to automate this for you?
I am not sure if you will get deactivated for it but you may receive a notice of suspension asking you to come up with a POA to deal with it.
