Trademark application no. not recognised on brand registry

Hi guys,

So I’ve put in my application for my trademark in the UK trademark IPO registry, its currently in a pending state and in the examination phase of trademarking.

I’ve tried brand registry on Amazon, but when I put my application no. in it gives me this error:

“The number that you entered cannot be found for the trademark office that you selected.”

No I know its correct as you can search for it on the IPO trademark pages and find the application under the correct reference, but it doesn’t seem to recognise it on amazon.

From my search on google I understand it can take about 3 days, but its been just over and still I can’t find my application to register for brand registry.

Any advice?

Hi @The_Little_Shop,

Thank you for your advice, I just thought I’d update you as going through the full process now I’ve seen that there’s a bit more detail that might help other Amazon Sellers, as I’m now brand registered yay  :

  • Once a trademark reviewer has reviewed your trademark and published it (awaiting objections - which is around a 2 month process) you are then able to apply for Amazon Brand Registry i.e. you’ve reached at least pre-approved status
  • My trademark is still in registration process (I applied myself without a solicitor or accelerator), and while it was being examined by IPO I wasn’t able to see it on Amazon Brand Registry. However, as soon as they had examined it and pre approved it (pending reg), my brand showed as an option on Brand Registry.

I just thought I’d share the above for the benefit of others

Are you using the accelerator programme ?
If not, you’ll need to wait until its ‘registered’
