Reserved inventory

I sell kids’ shoes. This week about a third of my listings have suddenly turned to the reserved status. These are top selling items. As a result of that my daily sales are now way below average for this time of the year. I susppect this is how Amazon eliminates competition on the marketplace as it competes with me on those items.

Amazon has an option to request an investigation per ASIN but I find it absolutely useless as Amazon will come back with some rubbish response. I now have a few dozens of cases open but there is no guarantee that Amazon will resolve the issue.

Has anyone else faced this issue?

Amazon’s response (rubbish as I expected):
"We have been able to verify that the affected unit is currently being processed by the Fulfillment Center.

This unit has been sidelined at the Fulfillment Center for additional processing, such as verification of item dimensions and weight or pending investigations.

However, this unit does not have any error, so the Fulfillment Center is working on adding it again into your inventory as “Available”.

For that reason, we request you to wait for a week so the Fulfillment Center can add your units again as “Available”."

This means that I will have to discount my items as the sales season is coming.

Yet another reason we have never used FBA. No control over your own goods. Slower sales is much better in our opinion.

I have had this before and @Demel is likely correct. Some times many units can show as reserved and then once you hover over the reserved arrow, itll likely say FC Proccessing or sometimes nothing at all. FC Reserved basically accounts for those units being ‘on the move’ in some way. Be that to a customer or different FC. Some times even when this is the case, it will not say FC Proccessing as Amazon is glitchy af like that.

However, on one occassion, it remained this way for a while and eventually after troubleshooting the offer (PS, try help>Determine why a listing is not displaying as this may give you an insight or simply refresh your offer and bring it online again) it can be ‘reserved’ while Amazon investigate something with the units or while they await additional data from you.

It seems like its FC movement or they are investigating something. I am almost certain is not a blocking method by Amazon as @Demel quite rightly said, they would not need to do this if this was their intent. They could simply take the buybox or find a reason to suspend you or your offer, if they wanted you out of the way!

I have been fighting with Amazon on this issues for 1.5 month without any success as Amazon keeps lying to me.

Our FC team has updated as the items are currently stowed in an area of the FC which is subject to major rebuild construction works, and is therefore inaccessible for Pick.

In this case we kindly request you to be patience and This is a temporary state whilst we wait for release of the area which is currently expected to be WK24. Once the construction works are completed, your listing will become available for sale automatically.

I understand that you are selling seasonal products. But I’d like to inform you that currently we do not have an option to reimburse seller account for the lost sales or storage fee when the units are under reserved. Hence we are unable to issue reimbursement as you’ve requested.

It is week 25 and my items are still reserved.

This is just absurd to claim that because of some building works the item is inaccessible for a pick. Building works don’t happen out of anything unless there is a natural disaster. I am not aware of any in the UK, and Amazon never warned us about those building works. If Amazon had known that they were going to carry out building works Amazon would have to allocate my stock in a reachable fulfilment centre. It is just sabotaging from Amazon.

so what do we do?
i have the same. 392 licensed t-shirts. they went straight to reserved upon arrival to the Fulfilment Centre. been like that for over a year.
My cases vanish. the latest one was locked. they deleted all the texts and made it “transfered”.

the few times someone was able to give an answer was when they said “FC processing”, or even “They are sellable, you will see them available in your stock within 24 hours” which never happened.

Cannot place removal orders either. they just vanish.
