Return rate higher than any other platform
Is it just me or is Amazon return central. I sell the same items on 2 other venues. The same items sell at a much higher volume than here. 20 times more sales on each other venue. I use the same descriptions and photos. If I get a single return on other venues in a month its odd. Here I get multiple a week.
Is it people on Amazon just dont read and order? From what I have gathered some sellers let them keep the item and many buy and attempt a return to see if they can get a free product. Some order a item get it 2 or 3 days later and say they no longer need it.
Its just very odd that the return rate is exponentially higher here than anywhere else.

I have been selling on Etsy for 10 years and have sold 000's of items and have had 4 returns in total. I sold about 500 items on here last Autumn and had 75 returns. Some don't read the description, some order to see what it looks like and many use the item and return it when they don't want it anymore. But they all know that they can return it for free, so no loss to them.
I spoke to many of my friends and all of them believed that everything sold on Amazon was owned by Amazon and none of them would feel guilty about returning something as Amazon is rich. So I think the main reason why returns here are so high is that most buyers don't realize that most of the items they buy are sold by private sellers

Nope not just you. I don't have a ton of returns on here. I think maybe 10 last year, but on other platforms I have had 0.
I have a co worker who had no idea that amazon had private sellers. She was returning things like crazy until I had a talk with her.
