Cancelling an order AFTER buying shipping
Has anyone faced a similar problem as I had today.
Received order.
Processed order and purchased shipping label via Buy Shipping
Buyer sent message requesting cancellation.
[Message had option buttons for accepting or declining cancellation]
I first requested a refund of the unused shipping label
Then I accepted the buyer’s cancellation request on the Message centre page
Then I refunded the buyer in full
The problem I then had was that the order remained in the ‘Unshipped’ queue
I cannot understand why Amazon have not removed it after I clicked the ‘Accept Cancellation’ option and the auto generated message to buyer confirming this.
Amazon SS, gave the bizarre recommendation to mark the order as shipped in order that it may be cancelled… Crazy, surely.
Order is now showing as shipped but refunded.
Any help would be appreciated

Once the seller has marked the order as dispatched the order can no longer be cancelled. It’s recommended before dispatching the order to check your messages for any cancellation requests.

The cancellation request came after the item was marked as shipped by Amazon, but before I had actually shipped the item.
When I requested the refund of the shipping label the item returned to the unshipped column.
That’s when I clicked on the ‘Accept Cancellation’ button in the Message Centre

- Do not cancel the order or the shipping label. You will not be charged for the shipping label unless it is scanned by the carrier. Your metrics will not be affected by failing to cancel the order.
- Refund the customer in Seller Central. Select Orders , followed by Manage Orders , click the order ID, and then click Refund Order .

I don’t have a linked account, I buy shipping direct from Amazon. The payment is taken from my available balance immediately. Whether it gets a scan or not is irrelevant.
