What is going on with USPS?

We have used Amazon shipping and use USPS as the preffered partner for years. Over the past months we have had so many issues with USPS not updating any tracking info and many lost items. Sadly this has impacted my ODR. I have sumitted appeals on all of the claims but to no avail. I would like to hear any ideas on how to avoid this dilema. It has become a bit frustrating and put my account at risk.

Are they scanning your orders and they are getting lost in transit, or are the missing the acceptance scans?

We always drop hem off at the USPS Facilty, since July of this year I notice that many shipments are not getting scanned at all and some must be getting lost. The issue comes to play when the customers naturally file and are granted a claim. which hurts our ODR.

It would take longer but make them scan the packages when you drop off. And you can always ask for the geotracking on a package. Tells where it ended up at. The packages are scanned delivered three days or so before actual delivery is made to residential customers. This was put in place to help the post office save money. You can read all about this on their website. And in California it takes a few more days. California is where we have had most of our complaints on Amazon. No one has complained on any of our other platforms which means it is just Amazon customers getting over on us.

It's your post office, then. And you use a scan form? You have them scan it before you walk out the door?

As for A to Zs hitting your ODR that shouldn't happen. When you respond you state policy and remind them your ODR is not to be affected and that Amazon covers the cost. But you have to make sure your packages are scanned in before you walk away from the post office. This is happening since July? Time to protect your business yourself and not leave it in some incompetent government worker's hands.

I have had several USPS packages not even scanned, or delivered. Also stuck in transit for long periods of time, then the customer files A-Zs I got three in the last month. REDICULOUS now my account could be deactivated they say

As others have mentioned, make sure you are providing the post office with a SCAN form. @Seller_kLGqIh8gSduk1 outlined the steps to get a SCAN form in another comment below.

USPS will scan the 'SCAN form' and print a receipt for you. DO NOT leave the Post Office without that receipt. That is proof that USPS has accepted your packages. If a customer files an INR claim because the Post Office drops the ball - you are insured through USPS and protected from ODR hits (as long as you use Amazon's Buy Shipping).

P.S. If you are shipping a large volume of packages through USPS (i.e. more than can be dropped off in your personal vehicle) - talk to the postmaster at your branch! They can set up a free daily pickup.

How does this save them money? I see the delivered scan days before delivery all the time as well. I always just figured it was done to protect their metrics/on time delivery % on paper. In other words a fraud.

We don't have this issue. This year has been better for us compared to the previous years. Packages are been delivered and being scanned. The only difference is there are much more returns.

I can't say that has been happening. I did have a couple things scanned as delivered before they got there which confused some customers. I never heard back from them after asking them to wait a day or two so supposing things worked out.

You should do the "end of day" scannable form. Have them scan this upon dropping off the packages, they don't have to scan them individually at the Post office

Under "Orders" < "Order Reports" < "End of Day Forms"

You can print one a day for each day, and it gives you a single bar code for the person at USPS to scan for all your packages from one to 1000 packages a day
