I take it you mean would a brand like Nike allow you to use your own UPC codes? For example to create bundles..

The answer is probably that a brand is likely to have UPC/EAN anyway of their own. You should always use that first and foremost. If there isn’t a UPC, you should really be requesting GTIN exemption.

If the bundle example is what you are trying to do, you would need approval from the brand to do so, and you may still hit a stumbling block that amazon look up the brand and UPC against GS1. For some brands amazon know what EAN prefix they are looking for, so if the brand and EAN don’t match, amazon throw up an error.

It depends on the brand and items.

None of the jewellery we sell comes with a brand/manufacturer EAN, so we use our own from GS1UK
