This problem is going to be very niche, but I hope there are people or Mods who can understand it and maybe help.
We sell branded products but we piggyback off the license agreement between the brand and the manufacturer. Because we sell in so many categories we do have to put through new seller applications every time we have a new batch to upload. Typically we have to submit images that show the product and the branding the swing tag needs to be visible. Most of the time the are a quick and simple approved seller application but lately, we are having a new issue.
We have 2 brands that are causing issues at the moment. The seller applications came back declined because we needed to provide more information so as a standard what we normally have ready is the contract between the brand and the manufacturer, the GS1 cert and the letter of affiliation between us and the manufacturer and typically this shows the affiliation. They have both come back declined stating that we have to show that the manufacturer needs to show that they have permission to list the products under their own barcode. This however does not make sense because the contract that we provide is a licensing agreement, allowing the manufacturer to use the brand license on their product so there is never any question of product ownership changing over.
We don't seem to be able to get past this block despite me explaining that there would never been that stipulation in the contract when the manufacturer is paying to use the license. Even worse when I ask the account manager if they can provide a letter that states they can use their own barcodes, they have come back saying the following;
- Unlikely that they will give it to them for free so we have to pay
- That once the agreement has been drawn up they will not rewrite the contract
- They are unlikely to confirm in writing something that they never had anything to do with in the first place
- Because this is not a requirement it can drop to the bottom of the pile and take about 3 months to get a response.
If anyone has ever been able to get past this it would be a great help because these products are seasonal and we do have time to waste back and forth with support.
