Unethical and unfair charges by Amazon UK and EU

In March 2023 I switched my account from Professional selling to individual selling but Amazon still keeps charging me for the professional selling fees. I have emailed them twice every month to no avail. I am still getting charged for professional services I do not need. Please advise how to make or have Amazon stop this unfair behavior. Thanks.

Does it say individual on your account info? Have they charged for other sites or is it definitely the UK charge?

Have you checked all the other sites are individual?

Did you register for Brand Registry in the UK? I believe you have to be a professional seller for Brand Registry - maybe that got hung up somewhere?

I did that in March. Below is the 3rd time an amazon rep has told me.

“Please be informed that upon checking the subscription fee that was charged to your account was for the last month you’ve used Professional Selling plan. As of now, we’ve seen that you’re already downgrade to Individual Selling Plan.”

Go to uk site - reports - payments - transaction view and screenshot it
Uk payment is usually £30 presuming you are not vat registered here

Another seller just posted the same amount as it happens - it looks like you have signed up for Amazon VAT services in one or more countries? Have you registered for VAT in an EU country or in the UK and had Amazon handle it for you?

How does this help me with stopping Amazon from charging me professional selling fees for my individual selling account?

00
user profile
Seller_7VbclcPFFRTnc

It doesn’t - it shows you what the fees are for as the amounts don’t match the subscription fee
If it says other - it’s probably vat fees - not professional selling plan
If it says subscription fees - thats what it is and you’ll know for certain

Yes, I used to handle my VAT via Amazon’s recommended 3rd party (TB accountants). TB only helped me register, and then I’d view & file the VAT filings on Amazon. I no longer need TB’s services neither do I need professional selling services but Amazon can’t/won’t stop charging me pro selling fees.

Amazon also makes it impossible to un-merge US-UK/EU accounts and they will not unmerge them for me.

So did you give notice in writing ?
How long ago did you sign up and how long was your contract as some sites, such as .de have a minimum period

Did you deregister officially too ?

As above then, check reports - payments - transaction view and if it says ‘other’, they are vat services payments and not professional selling plan fees

The Pro selling fees would be £25.00 a month (as you are VAT registered) - is that what they are still taking from you every month ?

Also… heres’s pricing from the VAT Services page - €29.17 - which converts to £25.38, which could quite easily have been £25.84 in previous months owing to conversion.

So its highly likely, all you need to do, is cancel the VAT Services.
