When and How to Use Pre-orders and Back-orders

Hello Sellers,

Have you ever wondered about the differences between pre-orders and back-orders? Here's what you need to know:

Pre-orders allow you to accept orders for products that haven't been released yet, enabling customers to purchase in advance of the release date. This is particularly useful when you're launching new products and want to gauge interest or secure sales before the official release.

Back-orders are for existing products that are temporarily out of stock but will be available again when restocked. This option helps you maintain sales momentum even when inventory is depleted, allowing customers to place orders whilst waiting for your restock.

You can set up these options through Seller Central:

  • For pre-orders, specify the product's release date during listing creation
  • For back-orders, set a restock date for your out-of-stock items

Both options require shipping within 30 days and are not available for Fulfilment by Amazon products or Music, Video and DVD items.

clear stock quickly

I've been in dispute with Amazon for 8 months. My issue was finally resolved, and my productis back to a normal listing. But, they refuse to refund any costs incurred thus far, and now they are charging me extortionately high aged inventory charges as they have been on the shelf for more than 270 days.

I just want to clear all stock as quickly as possible, without losing more money, and shut down my Amazon Seller Account.

I think I have two options, donate, or dispose and cut my losses, which are 4k so far. I don't think I'm eligible to liquidate, as I don't have a registered UK company, VAT number.

Any advise on how I can do this the quickest way?

Amazon eating maximum profit

Somebody tells amazon to do not eat much profit from sellers or there will be only old sellers remains, fba fees burden, ad campaign exclusive 20% of vat, and one more thing they are counting the well packed and sellable product into customer damaged after return why? I collected the returned product which they counted as customer damaged, but it was full okay at all neither issue with packing nor inner product used why they're doing this?

Hi Everyone,

I was wondering if anyone else has encountered this. We have maybe 1-2 tickets like this a week. To my knowledge, is there no way for us to redo an Evri return QR code? This has to be done by Amazon itself. If so, why is Amazon's customer service team forwarding complaints they should be dealing with to sellers??

Is anyone able to shine some light? Maybe we are just missing something here, where we can reprocess these QR codes?

We have just had an A-Z granted in favour of the buyer. The buyer cited the reason for not being delivered, but clear photographic evidence provided by DPD shows delivered. I am at a loss for words as to why Amazon refund the buyer without looking at the tracking. DPD is certainly one of the better carriers for viewing delivery and tracking information. On appeal, at this moment we are advised that Amazon have upheld their decision as we did not provide sufficient evidence!

We provided a written summary of events and screenshots of full buyer messaging, photographic proof of delivery and an email between us and DPD confirming the delivery was correct.

If anyone at AMAZON is viewing this, please reach out to us. I seriously feel quite stressed when we act correctly and get treated like this, not just from the buyer but also by Amazon.

I have purchased vanilla powder from a small business vendor, and my listing has been approved, and Amazon is asking for approval to sell the products. I have sent a letter, pictures, and labels, but I received a reply saying the following:

Thank you for your application to sell Product Group Approval Request for Grocery & Gourmet Foods products. We have reviewed the documentation and information that you provided and determined that you are not eligible to sell Product Group Approval Request for Grocery & Gourmet Foods products.

-- We cannot accept the INVOICE that you provided because we are unable to verify the transaction with the supplier. The documents that you provide must be authentic and unaltered.

Can anyone please help me to solve this? I'm new, and I'm fed up

FBA Shipment

Hello, Im new to FBA and hoping someone can give my some advice on my shipment. My 2 shipments were collected on Tuesday and have been showing as arrived at a depot and awaiting collection on the tracking. Unsure as too why they would be awaiting collection rather than going straight to amazon. These were sent by ups delivery purchased via amazon. Thanks

any tips on how to get all the video games and pc games request approval removed it’s pretty much made to the impossible for any small reseller and even new big sellers the hardest part for all is to have to have minimum of 10 quantities if anyone could help would be much appreciated

Not accepting application to sell

I have recently had a brand approval for a new product to sell, however when i try to add a product listing under my brand I am asked to apply for a prodcut approval, however when i click to apply Amazon says that they are not accepting application to sell.

I have tried contacting support but they send a generic message to say that the Amazon algorithm is not currently accepting application from my account and to try again another time. but they will not give me a time frame.

I am a new seller and this will be my first product so am not able to demonstrate any previous account metrics. i'm guessing this is part of the problem.

Anyone have any experience, is there anything i can do - i have sources from a reputable supplier have documentation and compliance certificates etc.

I'm thinking of making alternative arrangement to sell via another marketplace or directly as it seem this is unlikely to resolve itself - been tring for a month now and going around in circles.

Our amazon prime has been suspended for 1 month.

We recently changed carrier on prime and had a day where the carrier failed to collect.

We submitted a POA for the issue, then support decided they required a POA for an older issue relating to the switch over, which we also submitted.

The only response we get on the new POA is that it's being reviewed by the relevant team, but it's been 7 days with only stock responses from the support team that it's being reviewed by the relevant team.

The POA should be fine, they're both from the carrier (Evri) and they don't understand why the review is taking this long.

I don't think it is being reviewed, I think it's got stuck in the system somewhere, is there any way to get this actually looked into?
