Amazon, Amazon, Amazon—my great friend.

For over 7 years, I’ve dedicated myself to selling online, and now, at 33 years old, after tasting real success, I begin to doubt its stability.

Everything started in 2018, when my wife and I began selling on Amazon. I already had experience on eBay, but Amazon was the fast lane to growth. Back then, we started with retail arbitrage in the U.S., but quickly transitioned to wholesale, exporting to the UK—back when Brexit was still just a discussion. What a time that was.

Once the UK officially separated from the EU, I expanded into Europe. I was shipping 8 to 10 pallets between the UK and the EU while living in the U.S., without needing to sell domestically. I even sold in Canada and Singapore. I felt like the Pablo Escobar of Amazon—doing everything right, efficiently, and at scale.

But everything changed last year.

Amazon began suspending listings left and right, often without clear reason. At one point, they suspended over 50 of my listings. I managed to reinstate about 15—that alone felt like a victory. The reasons? They claimed products lacked a "Responsible Person" or proper nutrition labels, despite the fact that I always included them when importing. The issue was, if another seller didn’t have compliant labeling and Amazon caught it, all sellers of the same ASIN were affected. Even if I did everything right, I was still penalized.

Amazon became a joke—[Moderator Edit: removed inappropriate commentary]. IP claims have become laughable; even with a manufacturer invoice, nothing gets removed.

There’s a quote from The Prince by Machiavelli that says:

"The man who helps another rise is destined to fall."

That’s how I feel. We helped build this platform, and now Bezos has left us behind to go explore space.

Greetings to all my fellow European sellers—from your comrade based in the U.S.

A -Z Claim - amazon is just facilitating theft?
by Seller_DvAiqwbGVOyko

order number 204-3849654-5052329

order value £396.75

So we had a customer initially contact us for a product that was late.. ( out of our hands, courier failed delivery) we got the typical. this is for my daughters birthday and its her only present , we offered that they could return it or refuse delivery. but beyond that nothing we could do

6 weeks later.. they come back and say that they have opened and destroyed and disposed of the box.. realised some screws missing. and that it was a returned item sold as new ( not true) due to damage made when attempts at assembly - they just damaged it trying to build it 6 weeks after their daughters birthday

They demanded a full refund. without return - after the return window

We offered replacement parts, but would not give them a refund - certainly not without a return.

They preceded to create an A-Z claim. saying they never received it.

Amazon granted it

We appealed this. showing the proof of delivery and the chat with the customer about the product they received

amazon granted them a refund

no way to appeal, so opened a support ticket to speak to a CS. that created an appeal.. and the CS stated they can not help if its in appeal.. but requesting help creates an appeal.. so how?

Amazon again granted a refund. "no further action necessary"

yes further action necessary -

attempted again to contact support.. again cannot help as - yuou guessed it contacting support opened another appeal. support said that they would escalate it to the mysterious unreachable a-z department

minutes later..

Granted. no further action required

What the actual??

The customer literally talks about having the item. and we have photographic proof of delivery. we went above what was necessary. but amazon just gives things away for free

are amazon part of some giant fraud rackett?? or do they just like giving people free stuff and charging sellers?

Orders from ROI on Amazon.co.uk
by Seller_VrbJzcBJLEpDe

Am I doing something wrong? I keep getting orders from the Republic of Ireland on amazon.co.uk, my international shipping settings are off and I don't list on amazon.ie, the reason being is that I had a number of orders rejected by Irish customs with no reason given even though they had declarations and paperwork etc... anyway, I keep having to cancel these orders as the customer is only charged 4.10 for shipping when it costs 12.95 to send tracked via Royal Mail. I won't ship non-tracked as amazons A-Z guarantee pretty much facilitates theft through claim of non-delivery.

How do I stop these orders coming though. Cancelling affects my store performance. Have I missed something in shipping settings or is there a setting somewhere else that I need to change?

Any help appreciated.

Multiple Erroneous Evri Postage Adjustments
by Seller_qAXHOhnSXisEN

A case has already been opened about the issue, I am posting this here to hopefully raise awareness of the issue...

My account has been billed multiple adjusted charges for many of my sold items where postage was bought via Amazon, with Evri being the courier.

The adjustments are claiming that the original label cost of 2.95 for instance was undercharged, the result is a doubling of the postage fee and £100s of lost revenue.

All items are weighed and measured correctly so what is going on here? A system glitch? Evri trying to pull a fast one?

There is no way in hell that a small item, weighing 200g, measuring 30x 10 cm costs £6+ to send.

Has anyone else experienced this issue? It's causing me alot of stress it has to be said.

GST obligations for FBA sellers in Singapore
by Seller_4zxqt7T1inJs9
Amazon replied

Hello,

We have a question in regards to the GST tax. As a FBA seller, who imports goods into Singapore and is NOT GST registered, are we responsible for collecting and remitting LVIG Goods and Services Tax (GST) to Singapore tax authorities?

We read the following article, but it did not became very clear to us as we found some of the information to be contradictory.

by Seller_LV7u1trC9Mscd

Hi,

Could be me overthinking and over reacting as it is only 11:41am but today sales are on a different level of slow,

I have noticed the campaign dashboard has updated so I don't know if there is a change in visibility of products.

Not had any issues all week but today it is like we have fell off a cliff, anyone else experiencing the same?

Another A-Z scam - Facilitated by Amazon!
by Seller_c2wg3bzwmXhaa

So, I've just been scammed once again by this broken system.

Item sent Special Delivery - which was signed for on time by the "customer"

"Customer" opens A-Z Claim which is duly granted by Amazon - refunded from my funds but it hasn't affected my ODR which I should somehow be thankful for?

What's even more annoying is the reason given which completely contradicts the whole claim!

"The customer reported an issue with delivery. In this case, the tracking information indicates 'delivered', but the customer did not receive the package. Because you provided sufficient information that proves the order was actually received by the customer, we will not count the claim against your Order Defect Rate."

Has anyone had any experience of sending Amazon a LBA? the amount is not massive but it seems to be happening more and more frequently on Amazon and it's more about the principle!

Sorry for the rant but I've had enough.
